Another idea we're looking into is enhanced list downloads. Currently we let you download bounces and unsubscribes but a new feature would allow you to download all unique list members in your account, with or without bounces and unsubscribes.
Would you find it helpful to be able to get an easy export of all list members?

Harry,

Thanks for your comments and I think some of our features might already do some of what you're suggesting. For example, you can create custom fields which you could use for demographic information. You can also use our survey product to collect information, like demographic information, directly from your list members. Also, as you guessed in your second point, you can filter your list by using our list segmentation feature. But I know we can do more with these features and make them even better and easier to use. For that, your feedback is greatly appreciated.
What about the ability to add text to the opt-in forms. This would allow me to tell subscribers what the form is for. For example, "You are subscribing to Tech News sent out at the beginning of each month."

I'd also like to have a select (drop-down list) type custom field for the opt-in form that can be flagged as required so subscribers must select one value in the drop-down list. This would be like the standard state and country drop-down lists you already have.

I'd like to collect data such as number of employees and sales volume ranges. For example:

Number of employees: 0 to 50; 51 to 100; 101 to 300; 301 to 500; 501 to 1000; over 1000
Sales Volume: up to $50 million; $50 million to $100 million; $100 million to 500 million; over $500 million

This would require 6 check boxes for employees and 4 check boxes for sales (making a very messy form) and would not enforce a single selection for each field.

Any luck on seeing this soon?
Hi Harry,

You can use the Title Text field on the Design Your Form tab when creating your Opt-in form. This text will appear at the top of your opt-in form.

As for picklists with a set of predetermined values, we'll add that to the backlog and will consider it for a future release.
Hi Jeremy,

Thanks for your answer. I understand you can specify title text when building a form that I can embed in my web/blog page.

However, I was referring to the pop-up form page that is displayed for the "just button" option (e.g., my pop-up is http://oi.vresp.com/?fid=d0b1afd9ed). The logo displays on this form but the title text does not. The same thing is true for the profile page that existing members can request with the sign up form.

My work around for this is to add a check box field at the top of the form that says what the form is for. I just ignore the check box value.

This isn't important and is more of a "nice to have" feature. I'd rather have the custom drop-down list field even if it's just a basic single-choice list with only 5-6 values. I'm surprised that no one has asked about this before since it seems it would be a good way to gather effective demographics that can be used with the mailing list.
Absolutely.
