Suzanne,
There are several great ways to start getting hits on a website. Join some chat groups that pretain to the product on the site. I see you have a site about bikes, get on some of the Yahoo bike groups, join the discussions and answer questions, make annoncements about events, don't make a pest of yourself but offer good solid advice and blend in with the crowd. Put links to your site in the links section. Make certain your signature includes a link to your site.
Swap links with others in the same field of interest. I will only accept a link or place a link to my own website if it is good quality site within my own industry. IMHO random links just to get links out "there" are redundant and can hurt you in the search engines. Be bold, ask to swap links with competitors, it can help both web sites. Make certain you have a quality site or you may be refused and you may be refused or ignored anyway.
Post an ad on Craigslist or Backpage in the events section or in the business section. Put a link to your website in the ad. Good copy is essential to make this work so study up on writing an ad and work the link into one of the sentences.
Always have your web addy on business cards and stationary, make sure that every email you send out has the link in the signature line, hand outs at events or meetings can drive traffic.......
it is endless and I am closing shop and going do dinner but maybe this will give you some ideas.....hope they help.
I appreciate the help. You sound like you know what your doing :) Do you know anything about selling great domain names like BMX Raceways and Jail Bail Quick? I think these are awesome names and I have them listed for free but I set a high asking price until I get feedback on them. I also have a great advertising campaign to go with Jail Bail Quick.
