ROI Calculator Purchase Amount Variable

I'm having a bit of trouble understanding EXACTLY what I need to do to get the ROI tracking to work.

"The text for PURCHASE_AMOUNT is provided as a placeholder only in the ROI Calculator code snippet. This will need to be replaced with the actual purchase amount of the sale, as captured from your website. "

I am using a PHP shopping cart which captures the Total in a variable called $order_info.total.
I'm quite new to PHP and am not familiar with passing variables through URL's

Now how do I pass that to the PURCHASE_AMOUNT in the URL?

I have the variable listed above which actually captures the purchase amount once the order has been placed...

So I'm wondering how do I pass this variable (which holds the amount of purchase) through the URI given by vertical response.

Their instructions don't make sense and aren't applicable as far as I can see...

Is anyone successful with this, can you please post what you have as PURCHASE_AMOUNT?
