I learned that it's a good idea to send a new subscriber a welcome e-mail to thank him for joining the list (I think it's also a way of validating the e-mail address). Is there a way of sending out welcome e-mails automatically once a subscriber signs up? Right now, I manually send out e-mails by batches, sometimes after two or three days after sign-up.
I think it's a good idea to send a welcome email and depending on your business include a link to something special within the welcome email as a thank you for signing up. The link can be access to exclusive content, a white paper, a download or whatever is relevant to your business. It immediatley rewards them for signing up.
With VR's opt-in forms you can set-it up to send an email immediately.
The welcome emails are essentially autoresponders that you set up when creating an optin form. Becuase these are sent out on an adhoc basis as and when someone signs up, this doesnt count towards your credits if you are pay as you go, but im not sure if this is the case with monthly accounts, although i would imaging that you would not get charged for these.
