Fun Fact # 3
The biggest reasons subscribers choose to opt-out of permission email is lack of relevance (cited by 75%), followed closely by sending too frequently (73%)- source View from the Inbox 2009

Remember to send relevant content to your subscribers that they expect to receive from you.

And, what is the right frequency for your business? The volume of email you send, as well as the frequency with which you mail your list affects the response. Does regular mean twice a week or once every two weeks? It really depends on what you told your recipients when they registered, so if you do test, don’t stray too far from what they expect.

Also be aware of your frequency as it relates to bounces and unsubscribes. If you mail too sporadically, you’re likely to lose your recipient’s interest or they may have changed email addresses in the meantime and forget to inform you.

For more tips, see the VerticalResponse blog here.

Since I am leaving for the snow today, here is your weekly fun fact a few days early...

Email Marketing Delivers!
Email is one of the least expensive mediums marketers can use to reach their audiences; and, unlike traditional advertising methods, email is interactive, flexible, and easy to track. It also provides the greatest amount of personalization and segmentation so marketers reach their audiences with targeted, specific information. The low cost and high returns provide the highest ROI across all marketing channels – it is expected that for every dollar marketers spend on email in 2009 they'll receive $43.52- now that's some sweet ROI!

Hi Jeff,

The email From Label will be your company name (or whatever you enter). And the default From Address will be your company name at mail.vresp.com. Now, why does the email come from one of our domains instead of from your own?

The reason for this is that we obviously don't own your domain and so cannot properly authenticate email shown as being sent from that domain. If we allowed users to enter any domain as the mail domain, then that would be seen by many of the recipient email service providers as "spoofing" and would make it more likely for your email to go to a spam folder.

That said, it is possible to set things up in your account so you can mail from your own domain (if needed). Just contact support@verticalresponse.com and they can get you started. You have to make a few changes on your end (and we have to make changes on our end) to make sure we are fully authenticated to send mail through our servers on behalf of your domain.

Hope this info helps!

We are a salesforce user. When the email is sent out through vertical response, who does it show the email came from?
